Rick began his business to share his passion for home design with others. He discovered this passion while attending MICA in Baltimore, MD. Through an Architectural Design program and an apprenticeship with a local contractor, he realized what was missing was a bridge between the two. Rick prides himself on delivering a superior design product to his clients.
Director of Project Management
Darren Greene joined the Byrd Design and Build team in the Spring of 2015, bringing with him over five years of contracting knowledge and three years of Sales/Project Management experience. A Baltimore native, Darren continues to find ways to refine his own skills while pushing the build team to finish projects with an attention to detail and in a timely manner. He is the ideal project manager for any size job.
Director of Operations
Since graduating from Towson University in 2005, Grant has worked in various management and consulting positions within the construction and home improvement industries. From Fortune 50 companies, to smaller, privately held businesses, the foundation of his knowledge and experience has been built with an assortment of traits taken from each role that he has worked in. His skills set, understanding, and wherewithal can help bring your project visions and dreams to reality.
Director of Marketing
Katie Byrd joined Byrd Design & Build in 2017 to assist in the quickly growing family business. She graduated from Towson University with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. Katie has worked in various Sales and Marketing roles in several industries including financial services, senior housing, and healthcare. She brings a unique skill set of social media experience, event planning know-how and sales expertise.
Donnie grew up with a father who is a master carpenter and learned to appreciate excellence in craftsmanship. He graduated from Towson University in 2016 with a degree in Business Management. As a Project Consultant, Donnie takes the time to understand the individual needs of each client and works to ensure the finished project is the highest quality.
With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design from the George Washington University, Shelly has worked in all areas of interior design including Commercial, Government, Healthcare, Retirement Communities, Retail and Residential design. She believes that beautiful interiors can impact your daily life in a positive and restorative way. Skilled at creating artistically beautiful design under a variety of styles and budgets, Shelly guides clients through every phase of the design process through her ability to develop client relationships based on respect, trust, confidence and honesty.
